1. To find the computer name:

Windows 7:

From login screen:

  • Type Ctrl-Alt-Del

  • Click Switch User

  • Click Other User

  • Click How do I log on to another domain?

    While Logged in:

  • Open System by clicking the Start buttonPicture of the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
  • Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, you can find your computer name, and its full computer name if your computer is on a domain.

Windows 8:

From Login screen:

  1. From the login screen, select to sign in as “Other user“.
  2. Select the “How do I sign in to another domain?” link.
  3. The local computer name is shown. In this case, the local computer name is “THECOMPUTER“.

While Logged in:

  • Hover the mouse at the top right

  • Click the settings cog > PC info.

  • Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, you can find your computer name, and its full computer name if your computer is on a domain.

Windows 8.1:

From Login screen should be the same as 8 above.

While logged in:

  • Right click on the Start button

  • Click System.

  • Under Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings, you can find your computer name, and its full computer name if your computer is on a domain.

Windows 10:

From Login screen:

  • Click Other user.

  • Click How do I sign in to another domain?

While logged in:

  • Click the Start Start menu and select Settings.

  • Click System.

  • Click About. Your PC name will appear next to PC name.
